Below are a few of our favorite things to do (and eat) in DC near Georgetown and our block of hotels. Please let us know if you have any specific interests, and we would love to give you some more suggestions.

Weekend Fun

Capital Bikeshare | Weather permitting, we recommend renting bikes using Capital Bikeshare to explore all of the amazing monuments, museums, and parks that DC has to offer. Capital Bikes are located in more than 300 locations throughout the city, and there is a place to rent bikes right near our block of hotels.

Newseum |  Our favorite museum in DC, Newseum is an interactive museum of news and journalism. The seven-level, 250,000 square-foot museum features 15 theaters and 15 galleries, and could be a great activity if you arrive early in DC and have several hours of free time.

Pinstripes | Bowling is one of the only "athletic" activities at which Russell is better than Dina. Located in the heart of Georgetown, Pinstripes offers bowling, bocce ball, and good food.

SoulCycle | Just a two minute walk from our hotel blocks, SoulCycle is indoor cycling reinvented.

Downtown Holiday Market | On the Friday after Thanksgiving, DC will open its annual Christmas market. Located on 8th and F Streets NW, it offers live music and 40+ stalls with small gifts.

Brunch Spots

Booeymonger | After we started dating, "Booeys" in Georgetown was one of our favorite places to get a casual breakfast. Try the pancakes!

Blue Duck Tavern | Located in the Park Hyatt, Blue Duck Tavern is our favorite brunch spot for special occasions. We highly recommend the short rib hash and their homemade pastries, but please do consider making a reservation, as it fills up quickly.

Farmers Fishers Bakers | Located by the Waterfront in Georgetown, Farmers Fishers and Bakers does it all, with an in-house bakery, sushi counter, and full bar with 24 beer taps.

Kafe Leopold | Tucked away from the busier streets of Georgetown in Cady's Alley, Kafe Leopold serves light, European fare in an artsy environment.

Lunch Spots

Jetties | Jetties is a rapidly growing sandwich and salad franchise in DC, and we often ate lunch on sunny days outside in the Foxhall location.

Paolo's | We had our first date at Paolo's in Georgetown before a Washington Capitals hockey game. Russell was so nervous that he ate less than half of his pizza, which was rather concerning to Dina!

Pizza Paradiso |  One of our favorite pizza spots in DC with a location on M Street in Georgetown. Russell loves the Pizza Atomica, and Dina prefers the Pizza Margherita with prosciutto.

Tombs | A Georgetown classic, Tombs is a favorite among Georgetown students and an iconic "dive bar" and restaurant in DC.

Surfside | Our favorite taco spot in DC, Surfside serves fast casual food in a relaxed environment.

Sweet Treats

Baked & Wired | Though it receives less media attention than Georgetown Cupcakes, another popular spot in DC, most locals agree that Baked & Wired is the best cupcake spot in DC. We prefer it for their coffee!

Thomas Sweet | Thomas Sweet or "T-Sweets" serves ice-cream (brrr!), baked goods, and homemade chocolate.
